The Company

Cougar Consultants, Inc. is a rapidly growing company specializing in geological wellsite supervision.  It was incorporated in 1996 by Patrick Twa.  It is the mandate of Cougar to offer  the personalized service of a smaller consulting group, with the flexibility to handle multiple personnel projects and short notice wells in which independent wellsite geologists are unable. We take pride in providing a rapid turn around between release from the rig and presentation of final geological reports.

Cougar currently retains over 15 experienced wellsite geologists, and maintains a working relationship with several other senior independent wellsite geologists. We also currently have several junior wellsite geologists with less than 2 year’s experience. Our depth of experience covers the entire Western Canadian Sedimentary basin, and includes exposure to offshore and overseas drilling as well.  This experience includes vertical, directional and horizontal wells, utilizing conventional, invert, and underbalanced mud systems. In addition, to supplying personnel for your conventional wells, Cougar has the capability to supply you with experienced horizontal teams and personnel who are familiar with heavy oil development projects (SAGD).  We also have experience personnel available to do chip sample and core analysis studies using the AEUB facilities.  All our geologists are required to have a valid H2S Alive tickets and, as required, additional safety related certification. Most of our geologists have taken additional industry related courses.

All representatives of Cougar are equipped either with Powerlog/Trivision or Wellsight Systems striplog software.  We are able to provide almost any other striplog software currently available if these do not meet your individual needs.  All field data is sent to your office daily via email or fax to keep you fully informed.  Cougar will also gladly take care of pre-well preparations if necessary, including ordering bags & vials, gas detection equipment and sample washers, if required.

Cougar carries $5,000,000 general liability insurance in addition to Workers Compensation Coverage for all representatives in British Columbia. Each individual wellsite geologist carries a 2,000,000 automobile liability policy, and are sole proprietors of limited companies.
